About

Johann decided to do something about saving water when it became a very expensive exercise to keep his mother Alet’s garden at her guesthouse, Auberge Alouette in Franschhoek green and luscious. While waiting for the next landscape architect (another promise) to come out and install an irrigation system in the garden, Johann started doing research on the installation of irrigation systems in order to do the job himself.

After a lot of research it became evident that the small garden in Franschhoek is really the least of our and their problems. Water Rhapsody seemed to have an answer for at least a small part of the current problem.  A problem that is becoming more of a BIG problem everyday as there are no more rivers to dam in the Western Cape, the population is growing by the day, estuaries are an endangered species and on average we have less water per person than people in our neighbouring Namibia which we all thought was a desert.

With all this in mind and the newspapers, radio and television concentrating more and more on this harsh reality, the only sane thing to do was to find out more about this amazing company called Water Rhapsody.

From December 2009 we are proud to be the responsible guardians of water in the Boland area.

If I can save water, and my friend can save water, and my next door neighbour, and his friend, and his next- door neighbour and his children and the whole neighbourhood can save water, then just maybe we can avert a situation where water become more expensive than crude oil. Then we wont have to go to war over probably the most valuable commodity we have……….water.
